Who can take art classes?

Kids over the age of 6  with artistic interests are happily welcomed! From absolute beginner to advanced, everyone is welcome and everyone can grow their skills and love for art! Please do not register your child if they are not actually 6 yet. This is a firm age requiremen

How do I register?

For camps and workshops, add to cart and follow the prompts to fill out registration forms and submit payment. Easy peasy!

For weekly classes, at the product you want to your cart if there is one available. If you don’t see an available option, fill out a registration/waitlist form for the class you are interested in. You will hear back within a day or two if there is space available in that class, or you will be added to the wait list if there is not currently space.  If there is room, you will be emailed an invoice. Once both the registration form is submitted and invoice is paid, registration is complete. Spots will not be reserved if payment is not completed.

Please note that your credit card will be auto-charged for weekly classes on the 20th for the following month unless you provide written notice via email before then to discontinue class. All classes are ongoing, but you may discontinue at any time.

behavior policy

The number one rule at the studio is respect. Respect each other, the teacher, the materials and the studio. If student behavior steps over the line, a phone call or email will be made to the family. Disruptive and disrespectful behavior affects the learning of other students. If more than one discussion needs to be made, disruptive students will be asked to discontinue classes at the family’s expense (no refunds). A student that poses a threat to other students, the studio, or the teacher will be asked to leave immediately.

This month doesn't work for us. Can I register for a later month?

The best thing is to fill out a waitlist form for the class you are interested in. Currently enrolled students have the opportunity to keep their seats month to month for weekly classes. Students have until the 19th of each month before the next session begins to decide if they want to continue on. Therefore, new registration doesn't officially open up until the 20th of each monthly session.

How do I make payment for weekly classes?

For your first payment, you will be emailed an invoice that is payable by credit card online, and registration will be complete after payment. Monthly payments will be made automatically on the 20th of each month using the credit card that you provide with the first invoice. Payments received after the 20th will accrue late fees, and your student’s seat in class will no longer be guaranteed without payment by the 25th. If you wish to withdraw before the next session, please notify us in writing (email) by the 19th to avoid being charged.

What if I want to keep my student registered each month?

Awesome! Students that are already enrolled the previous month for weekly classes are automatically "in" for subsequent months. Payment is automatically made on the 20th of the month prior to the start of each session. You do not need to fill out a new form each month.

Workshops are first come, first served.

What if we don't want to continue weekly art classes the next month?

Please notify us in writing (email) by the 19th of the month before the next session begins to avoid being charged by automatic payment on the 20th. This gives us the opportunity to try and fill the vacancy as quickly as possible.

Without written notice by the 19th, there will be a $5 processing fee taken from any refund. Additionally, if we cannot fill the spot on short notice, there will be a full non-discounted fee for one week's class. Refunds will be processed by the beginning of the following session when there is a late class cancellation, or sooner if the vacancy is filled.

What if we miss a class/workshop or camp day?

Missed class days: Bummer...there are no refunds or prorated tuition for missed weekly classes. We can offer to schedule a make up class within 30 days of the missed class, if there is space permitting in the other classes. Additionally, make up classes are for those who miss for illness or emergency only. There are no guarantees for a make-up class.

Please plan to have your child at all scheduled classes. If you know in advance that there will be missed days and choose to pay the weekly drop-in rate, you may risk losing your student's spot in class. Priority enrollment goes to those who register for a full session and pay in advance.

If  the missed class is a "no call, no show" the class cannot be made up. Please call or text to let us know not to expect your student so that we don't wait.

Workshops cannot be used for an after school make up class.

Missed workshops: there are no refunds for Workshops. We will issue credit for a future Workshop with 48 hours notice. With less than 48 hours notice, no credit will be issued.

Missed camp days: cannot be made up, and will not be prorated or refunded.

Camp cancellation policy: If notice is given 90 or more days prior to the 1st day of camp, a full refund will be given, less a $35 processing fee. With 60 days notice, a full refund will be given less a $50 processing fee. With less than 30 days notice, no refunds will be given.

What if the class/Workshop/camp is cancelled?

If the instructor has to cancel a class due to illness or in the event of inclement weather, you will be refunded.

Workshops and camps that are cancelled will be refunded in full, or credit will be given.

Can I drop my child off early or pick up late?

There is a 5 minute "grace" period before and after class times. This window allows plenty of time for students to come in and get situated before class, or clean up after. Please note the start and end times for classes, and avoid early drop off and late pick up without prior permission. Things happen, and exceptions can be made on occasion. If there is an ongoing early/late problem, you will be billed $1 per minute outside of the grace period window.

Can my student come late or leave early?

Art Spot Studio classes are structured with guided lessons as well as work time. If a student arrives late or leaves early for a class, they may have trouble catching up or finishing that day's project. This can be distressing to most students, and disruptive to the class. Please try to minimize late arrivals and early departures when possible.

Can I meet the instructor and visit the studio before registering?

Absolutely! Just make an appointment as the studio is at a private residence. Appointments can be made on teaching days before or after class time. No weekend appointments.

Can I stay to watch?

For the comfort of all of the students, and because of space limitations, all classes are drop off only. When parents linger, many students including those that aren't yours, become self conscious. If your child does not do well in a drop off setting, it may be best to wait until they are older. If your child requires an assistant for special needs, please discuss in advance of registration.

MY CHILD DOESN’T MEET THE AGE REQUIREMENT, BUT THEY ARE ADVANCED. CAN I SIGN UP ANYWAY?

No. There is a set age requirement for a multitude of reasons, including social and emotional readiness, just like there is for school or other activities. To be fair to all students and families that have been waiting to join until the required age, we cannot make any exceptions. If it becomes evident during any class, camp or workshop that a student was registered before the required age for that program, their enrollment will be terminated on the spot with no refund.
