Who can take art classes?
Kids over the age of 6 with artistic interests are happily welcomed! From absolute beginner to advanced, everyone is welcome and everyone can grow their skills and love for art! Be on the lookout sometime this year for adult classes too!
How much does it cost?
Monthly sessions cost $120 per each 4 week session, when paid in advance, in full. Some sessions are shorter due to holidays or Snohomish School District school breaks, and will be priced accordingly. If registering for one class only, the cost is $35 for a "drop-in" session. Registration is required for drop-in classes to make sure there is room.
Saturday Painting Workshops are $40.
Summer Art Camps are $150.
How do I register?
First, fill out a registration form for the class you are interested in. You will hear back within a day if there is space available (or not) in that class. If there is room, you will be emailed an invoice. Once both the registration form is submitted and invoice is paid, registration is complete. Payment is the only way to ensure registration is complete. Spots will not be reserved if payment is not completed.
This month doesn't work for us. Can I register for a later month?
The best thing is to ask to be put on a wait list for the class you are interested in. Currently enrolled students have the opportunity to keep their seats month to month. Students have until one week before the next session begins to decide if they want to continue on. Therefore, new registration doesn't officially open up until the last week of each monthly session.
How do I make payment?
You will be emailed an invoice that is payable online. If it is preferable, you may mail a check, or bring payment in person prior to the first class of each session. If payment isn't made before the start of the first class, your child may lose their spot for the next session. Remember, spots will not be reserved without payment.
Are there discounts?
Absolutely! Monthly sessions are $35 per week if paid per class (always register first to ensure space availability), but when prepaid in full, the sessions are only $120. That is a $20 savings! Have two kids? There's a $10 discount per child after the first full price student. Please note: if payment is not made in full and ON TIME, the discount does not apply and you will be charged the full price of the session ($140).
What if I want to keep my child registered each month?
Awesome! Students that are already enrolled the previous month are automatically "in" for subsequent months. Payment for each month is due in person or via paid invoice BEFORE the start of the following session to hold their spot.
What if we don't want to continue art classes the next month?
No biggie! Classes are month to month. However, as a courtesy, please try to give two week's notice if your child will not be attending the following month. This gives us the opportunity to try and fill the vacancy as quickly as possible.
One week's notice is required or there will be a full non-discounted fee for that week's class.
What if I need to cancel a camp I registered for?
Because camps fill early, and it is difficult to fill empty spots once summer hits, there is a 30 day cancellation policy. You will receive a full refund if you need to cancel 30 days or more before the first day of camp, minus a $15 processing fee. If you need to withdraw within 30 days of the first day of camp, there will be no refund unless we are able to fill your child's spot.
What if we miss a class?
Bummer...there are no refunds or prorated tuition for missed classes. We can offer to schedule a make up class within 30 days of the missed class, if there is space permitting in the other classes. Additionally, make up classes are for those who miss for illness or emergency only. There are no guarantees for a make-up class, but effort will be made to make that happen. If the spot is able to be filled, you may be refunded for that class.
Please plan to have your child at all scheduled classes. When you pay for a full session, you receive a discount and are paying for us to hold space for your student. If you know in advance that there will be missed days and choose to pay the non-discounted weekly drop-in rate, you may risk losing your student's spot in class. Priority enrollment goes to those who register for a full session and pay in advance.
If the missed class is a "no call, no show" the class cannot be made up. Please call or text to let us know not to expect your student so that we don't wait.
Saturday Painting Workshops cannot be used for a make up class. Missed camp days cannot be made up.
What if the class is cancelled?
If the instructor has to cancel a class due to illness or in the event of inclement weather, a make up class will be offered, or you may receive credit for a future class.
Can I drop my child off early or pick up late?
There is a 5 minute "grace" period before and after class times. This window allows plenty of time for students to come in and get situated before class, or clean up after. Please note the start and end times for classes, and avoid early drop off and late pick up without prior permission. Things happen, and exceptions can be made on occasion. If there is an ongoing early/late problem, you will be billed $1 per minute outside of the grace period window.
Can my child come late or leave early?
Art Spot Studio classes are structured with guided lessons as well as work time. If a student arrives late or leaves early for a class, they may have trouble catching up or finishing that day's project. This can be distressing to most students, and disruptive to the class. Please try to minimize late arrivals and early departures when possible.
Can I meet the instructor and visit the studio before registering?
Absolutely! Just make an appointment as the studio is at a private residence. Appointments can be made on teaching days before or after class time. No weekend appointments.
What does my child need to bring?
Nothing but a can do attitude! We provide all supplies, with the exception of some more elaborate projects in the Teen Studio classes.
Can I stay to watch?
For the comfort of all of the students, and because of space limitations, all classes are drop off only. When parents linger, many students including those that aren't yours, become self conscious. If your child does not do well in a drop off setting, it may be best to wait until they are older. If your child requires an assistant for special needs, please discuss in advance of registration.
